The Florida Region of NA will be attending the FADAA/FCCMH Conference on August 24th & 25th in Orlando. This conference is the largest gathering of Addiction Specialists in Florida. This is a great opportunity for us to get the NA message to the professionals who are in direct contact with suffering addicts who have not found us yet.
We are also finalizing plans to attend the NAADAC Conference on June 16th & 17 in West Palm Beach. This will be a joint venture between South Florida Region and the Florida Region and we will share the expenses and responsibilities. Again, another opportunity to let Addiction Specialist know what NA has to offer their clients.
Exciting times for Public Relations !!!!!
Joel and I are attending the FADAA Conference in Orlando. Our literature has been flying off the racks and the professionals have been inquiring about how to purchase literature for their facilities. Everyone has good things to say about Narcotics Anonymous. We are truly carrying out our primary purpose by informing professionals about who and what we are and how we can help their clients.
I was invited by the Palm Coast Area PR Subcommittee to attend their Unity Awareness Day @ Dreher Park on Sat., Oct 15th. I attended the event and there was a good turnout. The area supplied free food for all and nobody went home hungry.
It was a day dedicated to service in NA. All the Sub-committees spoke about their committees and what they do so the members could get an idea of what services is like. I spoke a little bit about what PR does at the Regional level and explained what the Fellowship Development Group does at region. I also asked everyone to become a member of the website and to fill out a HRP pool form if they wanted to be apart of a workgroup.
I want to thank Fred Horr and the PR sub-committee for the invitation and i received great hospitality from the area membership while i was there. Thank you all for a great day.
Hello everyone and greeting from the 2012 Adolescent Conference at the Florida Hotel in Orlando. We are here to make the professionals who have teenagers and young people as clients that NA is a resource in their community as well as a viable program of recovery.
We chose this conference because last year at The FADAA Annual conference, we received many inquiries about how we can help teens and young people. So far, we’ve had many inquiries about bringing H&I Meetings into residential facilities and how to get our literature. Of course we gave those asking for information website addresses and helpline numbers so they can reach out to us.
In February, I will be participating in a series of PR Webinars being coordinated by WSO/Public Relations. Members interested and/or serving in Public Relations from around the world will be participating, bringing their insight and experience with them to discuss a wide array of issues and topics. I am excited about the opportunity to be a part of this forum. I will keep you posted……
